    I will have an interesting oak leaf for the auction.I have been calling this one Stan's Big and Weird.I picked it up from Stan a few years ago and this one always intrigues me with the fact that no two leaves are the same also very large leaves.

    Don Quixote leaves are large and color is good but I cannot recommend this plant as it is too slow.The plant above is 2 years planted in my garden and was in Lamars garden in the ground at least 3 years also.It is around 18 ins tall

    Hi Tim,that does not look like Don Quixote to me.Don has very big leaves and is glacially slow??I will post a pic of mine later.Don puts out 2 maybe 3 leaves annually.

    The cold snap.

    I show no ill effects yet although it will take some time for leaf drop to show up.We got down around 42 two nights in a row so it really was not too bad here.I generally do not water when it is very cold but I do not know what is better??

    .Hi Anna,a little leaf drop ,We had a few days of temps around 50 at night.Since then the temps have been quite warm.The garden is actually looking fine.You would never have known we had a hurricane 3 months ago

    Glad all is well.The garden will be looking great again in a few months.I am always surprised at how quickly gardens recover from defoliation.
